SASC Family Court Support Program

The Family Court Support Program supports woman-identified individuals who have experienced any form of abuse, control, or violence in their relationship with:

  • Support in navigating the family court system
  • Information about family court and family law issues
  • Help exploring your family law options and determining next steps
  • Recording your history of abuse
  • Completing paperwork
  • Safety planning, especially related to court appearances
  • Accompaniment to family court and/or legal appointments
  • Debriefing of court dates and/or legal appointments
  • Advocacy and referrals to other services and supports

Love is Respect

A project of the National Domestic Violence Hotline, love is respect offers 24/7 information, support, and advocacy to young people between the ages of 13 and 26 who have questions or concerns about their romantic relationships. We also provide support to concerned friends and family members, teachers, counselors, and other service providers through the same free and confidential services via phone, text, and live chat.

Safe Families for Children

Safe Families for Children is a movement fueled by compassion to keep children safe and families intact. Through Host Families, Family Friends, and Family Coaches, we temporarily host children and provide a network of support to families in crisis while they get back on their feet.

Shelter Movers

Shelter Movers Southwestern Ontario provides free moving and storage to those in need, in partnership with local community organizations and business partners. Shelter Movers aims to make the community a safer place to live by supporting women and children transitioning away from a home characterized by violence.

Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region

Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region (WCSWR) empowers and supports women* and children to move beyond violence by providing safe shelter, education, transitional housing and outreach services. WCSWR operates two emergency shelters for women and children experiencing domestic violence: Anselma House in Kitchener and Haven House in Cambridge.

In addition to providing safe shelter, WCSWR offers a free, confidential, outreach program for women who are experiencing domestic violence but do not require emergency shelter. The program is flexible, accessible and has no wait list. Shelter and outreach services can both be accessed by calling WCSWR’s 24/7 crisis support lines via phone or online chat.

Assaulted Women’s Helpline  

The Assaulted Women’s Helpline offers a 24-hour telephone and TTY crisis line to all woman who have experienced abuse. We provide counselling, emotional support, information and referrals. We recognize abuse as one example of women’s social, political and economic inequality in the world. The Helpline is dedicated to working towards equality for all women.
